What a fantastic post @Stphn and absolutely loving the photos! I have shared this post with family and friends, and maybe one day I’ll have the opportunity to retrace your trip!

Note to self: don’t read Local Guides post on an empty stomach! The food pics… especially the espetada are amazing!!

Thanks a lot @AdrianLunsong , that’s very kind of you!

Hahaha, that’s a great tip for myself too. Noted!

The espetadas were phenomenal, such juicy meat. And I have to say that in my daily life I am a flexitarian, unless I come across a place where good, proper meat is served. These espetadas honestly would make me eat meat daily again. :joy:

@Stphn That’s a new word to add to my vocab: flexitarian! It turns out that my sister has been to Madeira about 3 years ago! And she had a great time! If it wasn’t for her friend, she wouldn’t have picked the place but she said she had a really great time!

This is an incredibly detailed post, @Stphn ! I enjoyed reading this very much. I did not know much about Madeira, I do now, thanks to you. Keep more of 'em coming!

@AdrianLunsong , haha I love being a flexitarian! In my daily life I try to not consume meat, but you don’t have to punish yourself by completely abandoning meat. (because sometimes, I just love a piece of meat. And honestly, it tastes even better when you rarely eat it)

Great that your sister went there as well! Actually Madeira wasn’t particularly on my radar as well, but after some quick research before booking it I was convinced straight away. Gorgeous place! And not so many tourists as other European booming destinations, which is a big + for me.

Thanks a lot for your kind words @Sheetal_RS , really appreciated!!

One of the best reports I really enjoyed reading I didn't have much information about the fun city and its beautiful beaches
I learned how to write a nice report, and waiting for my first report

A great post with amazing photos @Stphn . The food looks great and the island itself looks quite rugged. Perhaps a 4-wheel drive is the way to go there!

Thanks a lot @AdamGT ! It surely is an incredible island.

There are few 4x4 cars on the island actually and you can see that at the prices. They usually go for 2-3 times a smaller car’s price.

Unless your budget is unlimited, small car is the way to go.
