Thanks a lot for your compliment @Anil6969.
First of all, I would like to say that I did this Kedarnath trek in 2019, just before closing the temple for winter. 6 Years ago. Now massive reconstruction work done in Kedarnath and it is overburdened by the pressure of a huge crowd.
Now I will answer your questions one by one.
- Planning and execution: I have planned for the journey almost 4 months ago, because we had planned for Yamunotri trek, Gaumukh trek, Kedarnath trek, Badrinath visit and lots of other places. Almost 10 days plan. But I suggest always avoid mountain and hill in rainy season. Because Garhwal and Kumaon region mountains are youngest mountain and landslide is very common in rain. And don’t forget about life threating flash flood. Best season is winter (March, April, September, October). Char Dham closes after Kali Puja in every year.
- Profession: Nowadays anybody can shoot good photos by using Auto feature of quality camera. Mobile is not perfect for photography due to lack of picture-depth and details. I mean tiny sensor of mobile. In this Kedarnath trek, I have used Nikon D3200 with 18-135 MM lens. After using this camera for 10 years I have sell this camera in 2022. Now I prefer Sony Alpha 6700 or Alpha 7C Mark 2. Camera is your choice.
- 360 photography gear: In this Kedarnath trek, I have used GoPro Max camera for 360 Degree videography. Like old Nikon D3200, I have also stop using this GoPro Max Camera 2 years ago. Now technologically outdated GoPro 360 camera is sleeping in my camera box. Nobody want to buy this old 360 camera. I am going to buy Insta360 X5. Personally I don’t like Ricoh Theta.
- Editing software: You can’t choose any software for stitching 360 photos. Software will provided by camera company. Main editing work will start after stitching. After stitching I have used Insta360 Software, Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve.
- DSLR companions: I like to use Nikon. But nowadays I am using Sony.
- Temple photography: I captured video in Kedarnath temple area in 2019. But now, videography are not allowed in Kedarnath temple and surroundings. Because everyone makes reels now.
- Travel companions: Solo travel is very costly. Because per day 4 seater Sedan rent is INR 4,000 minimum. Not for security only for health reason, I suggest never go alone. You can get sick any time for unusual cold weather. And never track alone in mountain.
Hope these information I have provided will help you.
