In the former site of the fortress acropolis stands Sts. Peter and Paul, which was built by order of Prince Spytihnev I. sometime after the year 895. Today it is the only preserved pre-Romanesque building and the oldest standing stone architecture in the country. Masonry circular structure is largely original. Sometime in the second half of the 12th century it was built a tower.
Legend:
Northeast of the booth on a stone hillside far show an oblong boulder, called "bed St. Wenceslas." On it rested supposedly St. Wenceslas, he attended school in Budečská, and often said here i fell asleep from fatigue.
Bearing excellent teacher and a sharp memory, he learned early Latin, so he read in pious books. From the new knowledge joyfully returned to his beloved babe, Saint Ludmila. When he took over the government, allegedly he told his mother, Drahomíra, whose fault was a devout Princess Ludmila wiped the world that went beyond repentance Budečská Castle.
