Yes, you're right, places on Maps vary in quality. Maps gets data from multiple sources, including user contributions, such as Local Guides, Map Content Partners and Google My Business. As accurate data for your region flows through these channels you will see huge jumps in Maps quality around you.

 

You can make a big difference to Maps quality by passing on what you learn to the relevant people in your area. Let your friends and family know about Local Guides, introduce your local, state and federal governments to Map Content Partners and share Google My Business with your business owner friends and family.

 

Use your own Maps contributions as an example to help the next Maps user. The amazing reach of Google Maps means one user can help millions.
