How much does it make a child's dream come true? Some are willing to pay millions for her, others to sacrifice her freedom, and others to devote her life. And sometimes dreams have neither limitation nor cost. Like that of businessman Georgi Tumpalov, who decided to realize an unusual idea at first glance - to build a medieval castle in Bulgaria.
Appears before our eyes, shining from the bright sun on the summer. It rises out of nowhere as a colorful illustration in a children's book of fairy tales - where the wind often changes its direction, and the past seems closer to reality. Its towers touch the clouds, and the stone walls reflect all the shades of light, changing their color according to the mood of the sun's rays. His name is "In love with the wind".
The castle is located 3 km from Sozopol, next to the village of Ravadinovo and is open for visits to an entrance fee of 10 leva. The unique architectural creation extends over an area of 20 acres. The castle has a park, a swamp lake and a chapel that is under construction. "In love with the wind" is not yet complete, but it will still impress you with its scale and original design.
Once you enter the complex, you will find yourself in a parallel world. Peacocks are walking around and the air is soaked in the aroma of herbs and flowers, which are abundant here. The tall towers of the castle, overgrown with ivy, will make you remember the tales of the Grimm brothers. If you listen to your imagination, you might even see Rapunzel dropping his long golden braid from the window, Cinderella greeted his prince in the garden, and the knights compete in archery in the spacious courtyard ... Try to look at this place with the unprejudiced eyes of a child and you will see that the visit to the castle is worth it.
The complex is built with lots of fantasy and attention to detail. The beautiful flower garden is decorated with fountains, stone statues, bird figures, warriors, mermaids ... Near the lake, you can drink a cup of coffee, watch the delicious swans and even eat them. They are not afraid of the people, and will gladly surround you if you bring them something to eat.
They say the time is running in the castle imperceptibly... There's definitely something to be seen and shot in the complex, and it's nice to feel like the main character in a fairytale - climbing all the steps to the tower to solemnly wake up the world, then walk slowly through the garden and you swing on the cradle in the yard with a few curious peacocks ... Pretty.
Of course, do not expect to see a real medieval castle like the palaces in Western Europe, and do not compare "In love with the wind" with the originals - it can not look authentic, but it is surely the only one of its kind in Bulgaria. Apart from its unique architecture and poetic name, the castle impresses with its apparent resemblance to its "brothers" in other European countries. The main feature is that they are under 200 and he is less than 20 years old. Georgi Tmpapalov has been building the castle with his own funds for more than a decade but has not yet been able to finish it. At a time when we measure everything in money, his action arouses respect. Perhaps one day "In love with the wind" will become a recreation complex or a hotel, but for now, it remains a pleasant place for walking, enjoyed with pleasure by both Bulgarians and foreigners.
