Greetings fellow Local Guides from all around the world.

I am writing this thread based on inspiration from the biggest Local Guides community in Indonesia (from WhatsApp + Telegram group). The purpose of this thread is to introduce the best of Indonesia to the world. All that you read here will contain great information (description, photos, 360 tour, etc) about local listings, cultural places, historical sites, and great vacation destinations from every cities and corners of Indonesia. We have like more than 10.000 islands spread throughout some 5.2 million sq.km area, but nowhere near enough exposure to this great country.

All information from this thread comes from all contributing Indonesia Local Guides members which will be mentioned in this post, specially thanked based on their locale respectively. Special thanks to: @SuhandiWidjaja for inspiring this post' creation in the first place

My wife from Bangka. In 2016 and 2017 we return to Bangka. Using cars via Merak - Lampung - Palembang - Bangka.

In Bangka many tourist attractions, lika beach with white sand, temple etc.

If you travel to a location in Indonesia such as a well-known large city, you can be sure that the regional government such as Pemda (Pemerintah Daerah) / Pemko (Pemerintah Kota) has already prepared a great public place (such as parks, ceremonial plains, etc) for relaxing, community activities, and even big regional events. It should also be the location where the largest independence ceremony (upacara kemerdekaan) is taking place on 17th of August (Indonesia's Independence Day).

Take example for this great location in Batam city, Batam Island, Riau Isle Province (Prov. Kepri) called "Alun Alun Batam Centre" which is often known as "Dataran Engku Putri" (due to the road adjacent is called Jalan Engku Putri). This space is home to many government-hosted events, mainly ceremonial big days for Indonesia and also concert (I love concert, haha). See the virtual tour of this location below:

It has a skate park with all skate installation and ramps. It even has an internet corner with seatings called "Taman Internet Engku Putri", which is quite notorious for dating destination in non-peak days due to secluded position. Overall, all locals should have at least came here once.

I will dedicate a post for "how to get to this city, island, region, etc" so readers can know the easy way to reach Batam for a quick 1-day getaway (though I seriously think 7 days is not even enough :P).
