Pollution in Kathmandu and preventive measures

The air of Kathmandu is dry and filled with dust exceeding the air quality standards of WHO almost every time. The roads are rough and bumpy. There is no speed limit of traffic. The visibility is literally unclear during the mid day too because of the smog of dust and smoke from the vehicles. When it gets rain then the street becomes like the wet muddy farm field. The rivers of this unplanned city are so polluted with the human excreta and household waste water that it stinks with in territory of 1 Km.

Despite all these we can be safe from these pollution if we can take some precautions. Never forget to use a dust proof face mask while you are walking on the street. Eating street food and fruits is strictly not recommended. You can tell your driver to limit the speed to 20 Km / hr. Safety goggles are also recommended for the protection of your eyes from dust infection. Flew can be common for the people with dust allergy , so do not take pills for it. At the last it is recommended to use cloths and accessories that covers from top to button . This will prevent you from the dust and pollution of Kathmandu.
