Local guides in Taipei, help!

Hi everyone -

I am planning for my trip to Taipei with my two cousins from September 21 to 26.

Could any local guides in Taipei or who know about the city well suggest me some sightseeing spots around the city and

good local restaurants and especially coffee places that I can check out?

I usually avoid tourist attractions when I travel and prefer to try more local-like spots.

I will be staying at Marriot Taipei (Lequn 2nd Road).

Is there airport shuttle from TPE to Marriot?

Thanks in advance!!

Hi @alexisbae:

I think perhaps @YK1001@Mubiesam or @catlinging can assist you for your Taipei adventures!

Ling has a post about a home made bakery in Taipei.

Hope you have a great time! 🙂

@alexisbae  Welcome to Taiwan!

Not sure about the airport shuttle from TaoYuan airport to Marriott Taipei, better to check with hotel. But since the MRT is very convenient from TaoYuan airport to Taipei now, it will be a good choice to take MRT to Taipei, then Taxi to hotel.

Some suggestions for sightseeing...

大稻埕/迪化街(old city of Taipei) https://goo.gl/maps/DiJYUcPmq3r

台北霞海城隍廟 https://goo.gl/maps/6bVEMMZao7q

華山1914文化創意產業園區 https://goo.gl/maps/8EmnTv7E2m42

松山文創園區 https://goo.gl/maps/qvHu5MXhWx62

Don't forget to try the UBike if you have the chance, there is a riverside park 美堤河濱公園 https://goo.gl/maps/iDrekoLZpyH2 not far away from your hotel, a wonderful place for biking.

Enjoy!

@alexisbae

About transportation information of hotel,

you can write an e-mail to the hotel for asking whether it has a shuttle bus.

I think it will be the right answer for you.

For sure you can take taxi

or Taipei metro(your hotel is near MRT[Jiannang Rd.=Miramar] for 5mins walking) to the Airport Terminal(1-2).

Both are not that expensive but comfortable.

Here is the Google maps hotel website below
