I would suggest if anyone is planning to travel to Europe please purchase the Euro Rail pass. They make your travel easy as you can take any train in Europe through this pass. Even some of the intercity trains are also included into this and you save a good amount of money in travelling.

This can be purchased online as well as at any train station.
Also, no need to purchase the 1st class pass, as you would require reservations in few trains and 1st class becomes expensive plus there is nothing special in 1st class.
