The Gambia has one of the best bird species in West Africa. The country inhabits 540 species of different types of birds and, has a diverse ecosystem. These birds are protected by law and people are not allowed to hunt them down. Bird watchers frequently visit  the country to spot out one of the best species of birds in The Gambia. Migratory birds frequent the country during the change of season.
