Best Places to Watch 4th of July Fireworks from New York City

Does anyone have any suggestions for the best places to watch 4th of July fireworks in NYC? Last year I was living in Battery Park City and watched Jersey's fireworks from the waterfront (at a fantastic little restaurant called Miramar!). Miramar is right on the water, never crowded, and a great family-owned Mediterranean restaurant. I really can't recommend it enough. However, I'm now living on the Upper East Side, so I'd welcome any other suggestions!

Happy 4th!

Unfortunately Roosevelt Island is "sold out": http://rioc.ny.gov/pdf/JULY4TH2016.pdf

Long Island City will have good views since the fireworks are on the East River again this year, but I imagine it will be packed...

This map might help: http://ny.curbed.com/maps/4th-of-july-fireworks-new-york-city-where-to-watch

Where'd you end up watching the sky explosions, @MaleaG?

I saw @BrynH photos from her friends place - amazing views!

@Corrie, I ended up going to Battery Park City again (At the Miramar restaurant). It was perfect, because even with the rain, we could see the fireworks from the huge windows inside! I definitely think this restaurant is one of the best kept secrets in New York...Hmmmm, that might be a fun map to make. "Best kept secrets in ____" :)!
