The underground of Znojmo belongs among unique historical sights not only in the Czech Republic but also within Central Europe. It comprises a system of underground passageways and cellars that is almost 27 kilometres long, and has up to 4 storeys.
We suppose, based upon two inscriptions with years found in the underground that the beginning of the passageway, that the construction dates back to the turn of the 14th and the 15th centuries. Every one of the residential buildings had an underground space apparently serving economical purposes.
The Classic sightseeing route through the historical underground of Znojmo educates adult pilgrims or adventure-lovers as well as children. Plunge, without fearing for your own fate, into the places where medieval warriors entered only with much fear. By means of the top-modern technologies and featuring a scenery of sounds and lights created in the twenty first century.
On fourteen stops you will see coffins with skeletons of the dead, torture instruments together with haunted criminals, preying monk, orcs and many others.

very strange place, @Myrathor. I sotterranei sono molto interessanti, e tipici di molte città medioevali.
Grazie per la condivisione. però non ci hai mostrato le cantine, che per me sono la parte più interessante. Che vino si produce?

Hi @ErmesT Sorry, I wrote it wrong, it has to be a secret underground city and good wine. Still, I'll share. Underground has several parts. Znojmo region is surrounded by vineyards.

Adrenalin trails
Here you can experience the Znojmo underground completely differently – you will move along in a non-traditional manner – pass through low corridors (difficult bended walk), stretch through the narrow profiles (your profile will be tested before you are given access), wade through water (on all passageways it is necessary to expect walking in water), climb wet ladders…. all in the dark, only with a flash-light in a protective dress.
Before entering, you can try frames with three levels of difficulty. Frames with the size of corridors, which is going through.

Legend
The legend of the 17th century again says:
"The year was 1645. The Swedes continued their southern campaign and also occupied Znojmo. They entered the empty streets, burst into empty houses, nobody gave them no resistance. Vainly searched the land, and cellars, and many are puzzled that the townhouses do not cause all deserted conversely, if just been left to their residents on the market or for work. Swedes, reluctantly, they had to withdraw with an empty since conquer depopulated city and empty pantry and chests pointless. When the last hill for Znojmo looked back, they saw above the horizon, smoke rising from the chimneys.

Let's look to the wine cellar. As I said, Znojmo wine region. Wine cellar was a pretty magical experience. The owner showed us the entire wine cellar with commentary. Comfortable seating with good wine. In Znojmo many wine cellars. Visitors will always find an open wine cellar.

Saludos Farid
