@WaweruM in Uganda it's a Rolex. Not the one you wear, but the one you can eat!

To make it you need about two eggs, a chapati and some cabbages and green pepper.

Re: What street food is famous in your country?

That sausage looks good! In the part of my country of residence where I live (Cebu, Philippines) the most typical street food is barbecue of various sorts. It's usually but not always meat that's marinaded then placed on bamboo skewers and grilled over charcoal. Some of the more unusual varieties include chicken feet, which they call "Adidas" after the brand of shoes, and "Betamax" after the video recording tape, which are cubes of jellied pig's blood, then there's "isaw" which is barbecued chicken intestines. (I've tried isaw before. It's not bad.) Otherwise there are typical pieces of chicken meat and pork. Barbecue is usually eaten with "puso" which are small triangular servings of rice that are wrapped in banana leaves and steamed until the rice has cooked. It's a more convenient way of eating rice when you're not sitting at a table. Other street foods include the bananacue, which is a small banana that's placed on a bamboo skewer, grilled then coated with brown sugar, fish or squid balls, which are usually fried tempura-style but sometimes steamed or boiled in broth, siopao which are steamed buns made of rice flour containing meat in a sauce, "taho" which is a cup containing soft tofu pieces and sago pearls covered in a sweet brown sugar syrup, siomai which are basically a type of Chinese dim sum or steamed dumplings containing pork, and "shawarma" which is similar to a Greek gyro being spit-roasted ground meat slivers served wrapped in a piece of pita bread with chopped raw vegetables such as cabbage and cucumber and topped with special sauces (Filipinos brought this food back with them from jobs in the Persian Gulf countries and it's very popular here.) Lastly there are street vendors who sell ice cream cones made of a combination of two flavors of ice cream: ube (purple yam) and cheese! (Yes, cheese ice cream!) Of course you can also buy fresh fruit already peeled, sliced and prepared for eating, and things like hamburgers, hot dogs, fried chicken and slices of pizza. And while not technically a street food there are bakeshops everywhere that sell "pan" (bread rolls and sweet buns of various types.) Ngiohong are made of palm leaves dusted with Chinese five-spice powder, wrapped in lumpia or eggroll wrappers and deep-fried in palm oil then eaten with a very spicy dipping sauce also containing some spice powder. (Delicious!) There's a wealth of really good food here.

Re: ngiohong, that's palm hearts, not leaves. 🙂
