Here it is!
The world's tallest Christmas tree ever which has been built in Galle face Green, Colombo, Sri Lanka. This artificial Christmas tree has reached a height of 238 feet (73m) and was opened on the Christmas eve 2016.
This cone-shaped structure is made of a steel wire mesh frame made from scrap metals and wood and is wrapped by plastic mesh. It is decorated with natural pine cones painted in gold, green, red and silver colors. Also around 600,000 LED bulbs make the tree illuminate at night.
This project was initiated in August 2016 and suddenly many criticisms raised complaining the huge cost of 80,000 USD. The critics stated that Christmas has to be celebrated by charity rather than wasting a huge amount of money in such a materialistic structure.
After many arguments, the project resumed with the permission of the Catholic heads and was successfully opened on the Christmas eve. The structure holds a huge star measuring around 20 feet on top of it and also a Santa with a sled by the side.
This huge Christmas tree has been known to Break the world record built in China in 2015!
Cheering this achievement while celebrating the New year eve! Wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
