@PaDeSSowrote:Hi @ReshamDas yours its complete and we like it to inspire each other all around the world
@ReshamDaswrote:Hello @PaDeSSo thanks for sharing your meetup photos and for asking us to share ours. It's really an amazing thread where we could see the different beautiful images of Local Guides from separate parts of the world meeting up and clicking pics at some marvelous locations!
I'm also glad to share memories from the meetups attended as part of the West Bengal Local Guides (https://plus.google.com/u/0/communities/113073977927450229989?cfem=1) community from the year 2016.
College Street PhotoWalk, December 2016
It was the first time the West Bengal Local Guides community hosted a formal meetup in form of a photowalk through College Street, Kolkata - a location in the city renowned for being the largest book market in India, as well as the largest second-hand book market in the world. About 25 fresh members of the community of all ages, as well as our guests from the Bangladesh Local Guides community attended the event which eventually ended at a video shoot in the Victoria Memorial Hall.
Botanical Garden GeoWalk, February 2017
After a successful start, we were overwhelmed at the response and opted to host a 'Geo Walk' this time at the Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose Botanical Garden, Shibpur, Howrah. It is the oldest botanical garden in India and the largest of all in Asia. It also is home to the world's largest banyan tree.
New Market Food Crawl, May 2017
Once we have completed a photowalk as well as a geowalk, it was time to refuel ourselves with some food. And for that, we could not have a better location than New Market - a location in central Kolkata which hosts a variety of restaurants who serve delicious foods of different cuisines at the same place.
Millennium Park GeoWalk, August 2017
It was our 4th meetup and this event was placed at the Millennium Park, a park popular for spending time by the side of the holy river Ganges (Hooghly). This event was intercepted by a torrid rainfall but still managed to get the essence of this place before ending up in a food joint at Esplanade.
Behala DurgaPuja Photo Shoot, September 2017
September 2017 was very special for me, as I was selected to be part of the Google Local Guides Photo Shoot which took place in my own city of Kolkata, with the annual festival of DurgaPuja as its theme! I was part of a 4-member team as cast of this shoot, who all were residents of the city and my fellow local guides. I was the youngest of all in the team.
North Kolkata Heritage PhotoWalk, December 2017
Next in December that year, we, the West Bengal Local Guides hosted a heritage photowalk to celebrate the British Indian heritage cultural well preserved in the northern part of the city of Kolkata, as part of the first anniversary celebration of our community! We roamed through the heritage alleys and popular old buildings of Sovabazar, Hatibagan, Hedua and Shimla and captured the beauty of the locations. About 20 Local Guides participated in this event.
Meetup with Bangladesh Local Guides at Kolkata, January 2017
Our dear guests from the neighboring nation Bangladesh, and two of most popular and hard-working Local Guides from the country - @Kamalhasnainee and @OmarBD visited Kolkata this January and I had the luck to catch them at the New Market at the end of day they were busy improving the information in map of the local places in the city along with WBLG moderator @AshiqueMirza.
Bongaon Photo Walk, February 2017
For the first time in 1.5 years, the West Bengal Local Guides decided to get out the capital city of Kolkata and catch some glimpse of the rural Bengal. Our first choice in hand was the city of Bangaon (Bongaon), a city situated at the international border of India and Bangladesh by the river Ichamoti. Hosted by local resident and WBLG moderator @Sovon, we the WBLG members along with our guest from Bangladesh - Comilla Local Guides owner @ShahMdSultan walked through the different attractions of the town including the Petrapole-Benapole International Border, which eventually is the largest land port in Asia.
I'm eagerly waiting to share more photos from our upcoming meetups! Have a great day.
