A Few Days ago i've Visited Very Famous Laxmi Vilas Palace, and it's Located in Vadodara, Gujarat, India. The palace is well maintained and some of it's area is kept as museum and open for tourist.
Vadodara (Baroda) is known for ancient History. Vadodara means a village amidst the Banyan trees. it has earns "Cultural Capital of Gujarat".
About Palace:
Laxmi Vilas Palace (Lukshmi Vilas Palace) was built by Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III in 1890 is the Residence of the Royal Family. At the time of construction it boasted the most modern amenities. Its ornate Darbar Hall, which is sometimes the venue of music concerts and other cultural events, has a Venetian mosaic floor, Belgium stained glass windows and walls with intricate mosaic decorations. Outside of the Darbar Hall is an Italinate courtyard of water fountains. The palace houses a remarkable collection of old armory and sculptures in bronze, marble & terracotta. The Palace "compound" is of over 500 acres and houses a number of buildings, particularly the LVP Banquets & Conventions , Moti Baug Palace and the Maharaja Fateh Singh Museum building.
The palace is open to the public and an audio tour is available. Rs. 225/Person Tickets for visiting the palace. Audio tour is a personal guide and it's very helpful to understand History and The Palace.
Maharaja Fateh Singh Museum ticket sold separately and the cost of the ticket is 80/- Person.
