LET'S SHARE A BIT OF FRANCE --- RECAP

Hi,

This post is just to make a recap of my threads I have wrote about France:

1) DOMAINE DE SCEAUX:

The Domain of Sceaux is 181 hectares and was designed by André Le Nôtre (who designed the park of the Palace of Versailles) at the end of the 17th century at the request of Colbert. At the Revolution, the castle and waterfalls were destroyed. From 1856, a new castle is built of Louis XIIIstyle with bricks and stones. The park contains many statues (The fight of a unicorn and a dragon and a dog, Dawn, Twilight, Harmony, Olympus ...) and several ponds.

2)  ST LEONARD DES BOIS:

Saint Léonard des Bois is a small village north west of France. It is in the classified site Alpes Mancelles (west of France).  It is a bit hilly. There are two small mountains (Haut Fourché and Narbonne) culminating at a little over 200m above sea level and form natural lookouts.  The Butte de Narbonne is apparently an old fortified town dating back to Gallic times. This mountain served as an entrenched camp during local conflicts. Saint Léonard des bois is a place conducive to outdoor activities.

3) LE CROISIC - LOIRE ATLANTIQUE

Le Croisic is a penisula  and a small characteristic town south of Brittany.

The qualities of Croisic are rare on the French coast. Indeed, the town combines both buildings of significant architectural interest, old urban complexes of historic quality and a strong maritime tradition. Its quasi-insularity further strengthens its character and deeply marks its culture. The Croisic owes them its great notoriety and therefore its strong attendance. The former "first" core still remains today the heart of the city. On the quays, it presents the most effervescent and most emblematic image with, at the same time, the picturesque organization of the port (the rooms, the joncheries), the permanence of the stone quays, the urban architecture dense and ennobled by some "strong" historical facades. The back of the port, the old urban core, and its complex route pattern (curved streets, medieval crossroads ...) contrast with its calm with the animation of the maritime facade.

4) ANNOVILLE - NORMANDY

Normandy is well known as you can visit The Mont Saint MichelThe D-day Landing beatchesGranvilleAvranchethe Chausey island, biscuit factories, Benji jumping, Calvados factory, zoo.... It is a nice place to relax, make beach activities such as fishing, tanning, games and also for walking and cycling.
