Living in Malaysia or Singapore can be quite a hot affair. After all, we are located near the equator where the weather mostly alternates between hot summer and torrential rain. Which comes as a no surprise that many Malaysians and Singaporeans flock to the two highlands of Malaysia every holiday season to escape the hot weather and indulge ourselves in the chilly breeze of the mountains.
Cameron Highlands is the more relaxed option of the two, the other being Genting Highlands with all its glitz of a casino resort. Mention Cameron to any locals and strawberries, tea leaves, farms and colonial architecture comes to mind. My family used to visit Cameron Highlands during school holidays for family vacations when I was young and for nostalgia's sake, we decided to visit it again recently to see how much the place has changed. Here are some photos from the trip!
In short, Cameron Highlands is a great place to visit with its scenic landscape and cooling weather. My personal favourites are the Lavender Garden and the Bee Farm.
Some travel advice: Make sure to visit during off-peak periods and avoid school holidays and weekends, as Cameron can clog up easily. This is due to the fact that only one road links the entire place up, which can easily lead to long traffic jams. Be prepared to spend up to a few hours if you're caught in one. Motorcycles come highly recommended as an alternative solution.
Do you have a favourite highland tourist spot? Do share with me in the comments section below!

Hey @DoriyaKiz,
First of all, that's a great post. Second, we can use the title of this post as an example of how everyone should name their topics. 🙂 When I saw it, it made me click on it immediately. One of my favourite places in the mountain is Seven Rila Lakes. I've shared about it some months ago. I'm not sure if this counts as a favourite highland spot. 🙂
