What's in your backbacks?

Show us your backpack's contents!

Here is mine:

  • 1st Gen 3G iPad Air: Business pictures, Google Maps editing and Street View management
  • Amköv AMK 200s 360 camera: Really cheap, but requires lots of editing, Probably I'll replace it with a Theta S
  • 5th Gen iPod touch: I use it as a remote for the Amköv
  • Samsung EB-PN915B: 11300 mAh battery pack. Best investment ever.
  • Selfie stick for the Amköv
  • PhotoSEL ST121 mini tripod: converts the selfie stick in a low-profile tripod

Re: What's in your backbacks?

I travel much lighter. I make almost all my contributions with my Moto G LTE

How are you liking this camera?

Could you go into detail on what kind of editing you do?

Does it have a resolution high enough for google street view?

Is it durable?

Do the lenses scratch easily?

It's good enough for the price, but I wouldn't recommend it for any serious use

well, for starters this is a sample raw image from the sd card:

image.jpeg

The camera comes with a really bad image conversion software. I've made a custom node.js script that extracts the two hemispheres, prepares them with nona and stitches them with enblend. It's not pretty but it works.

Kind of, you have to upscale the images a bit during processing

Is it durable? Do the lenses scratch easily?

The cover of the lenses seems to be acrylic. I've had no problems (yet) but it haven't had to withstand any rough use (yet).

It's really hard to keep the lenses clean of fingerprints with such a small camera body.

Bottom line? It's cheap, but the savings don't make for the struggle.

Thank you for such a detailed review, hoping to win the Theta S, but if not ill probably be saving up to buy one.

I love 360 photography, its too bad that its so pricey to get into.

A bit more than a backpack .... ;-)

It takes more like a small suitcase but the gear I take is the following from left to right:
