Professional that are public facing who entitled to have their own POI on Maps are different than normal people.
When I do a random search of "Doctor" in Maps, you can see the results yourself.
To my eye, this is the normaly practise for the professionals.

Like I say, I cannot see how an image of a person's face helps locate a destination - just because they are public facing does not make their face a destination, does it?
I see it as additional information, but not particularly useful in terms of assistance with location - like a company logo for example.

When we search for a particular Doctor, we wanted to reached that person - not a location. And you know better than me what is the best way to identify the correct person.
