Regarding the problem of taking photographs of a local guide

Those who work as guides, they are sometimes subject to problems in photographing. Occasionally there is a case of humiliation in some place and sometimes in some places. Is there any guidance from the Google authority on this issue? Do you have the opportunity to obtain any identity card or photo license from Google or local government agency?

Re: Regarding the problem of taking photographs of a local guide

I suggest not to photograph in restricted or prohibited areas. Take permissions before taking photographs in private places. Also abide by the local law regarding photography and privacy. We are not google employees so ID cards are not available but, you can show your contributions profile in Google Maps to highlight you are a member of a global community of people who care about local businesses and their information on Google Maps.

Re: Regarding the problem of taking photographs of a local guide

Taking photographs of public places like restaurants, malls, tourist attraction, railway station are generally permitted except some sensitive areas. These areas may be crucial from security point of view and you will always find "photography prohibited" written on those areas. So, you need to stop yourself from taking pictures of those places.

In case of local businesses whose photo you want to upload and add their places in Google Maps, you can make them aware about the google maps and local guide program and I am sure if you tell them in detail about why you are taking their shops picture they will co operate and will be grateful to you for what you are doing.

Cheers.

Your ID is Your Google Map Contribution page, there is a photo of you and what you have done, its already on your mobile, show them

In my opinion, our contribution is the public domain, there is an ethics to respect
Ask for permission if the area is semi private / private, respect the privacy of the owner..

so you don't need identity card or photo license from google, it may cause alot of legal problems for google
