How your photos can help teach children in India

The India Literacy Project, an organization that supports education and literacy projects around the country, teamed up with Google Maps and Google Earth to create interactive learning tools for children in rural India.

In classrooms, children use photos, videos, and 360 images taken by Local Guides to virtually visit the monuments, museums, and historical landmarks they are learning about. This is just one of the many ways Local Guides like you are making a positive impact on people around the world.

Hi everyone here,

Thanks @JuanCh for the blog.

Here I would like to share a few things about an Indian literacy project.

Firstly, I'm proud to be an Indian, and being a part of literacy project. It's my voice to all the local guides, the people who asked what will they get by contributing to google maps. Now, the answer will be, Giving a bright future to the coming up young generation is a big achievement for us. Each of our contribution is helpful the children, teachers, learners, Researcher and many others. It's digital India now.

There is much difference in teaching on board vs teaching digitally. Google maps, photo spheres, photos, reviews are helpful to the students to understand in a better way, and to the teachers to teach them in a easier way.

And please continue contributing to the world. Each of your contribution will be recognized.

Hope this project will be successful.

Thanks & Regards,

Jafar pasha

 Hi everyone!

Its good to find this thread. @JuanCh @Jafarpasha

I find this initiative to be really interesting and useful for the children!

I would love to know more about it.

Information such as:

- Which cities/ towns/ villages in India have got the Multi Dimensional Learning Space installed at schools.

- If any of the local guides can visit those schools and add a picture on Google and let more people know about it.

- If someone from ILP would like to share more details about the future of this initiative through Local Guide Connect or through a web conference on Google Duo, may be.

- Can or are they able to use internet/Google search for further research on the similar study material

- Are they going back to their books for further study and academic exams

Basically, I would like to learn or talk about the on-going and near-future results of this program.

Wish you all a good day ahead!

Regards,

Maneet

It's a very very usefull initiative. Great thinking @JuanCh. I love this. Thanks for sharing with us.

Hello @JuanCh

This is a great initiative. I believe other regions of the world with similar challenge can adopt the same method. As local guides, it is salient for us to remember the words of Gaylord Nelson-

"The ultimate test of man's conscience may be his willingness to sacrifice something today for future generations whose words of thanks will not be heard"This maybe the opportunity!

Thanks for sharing.

hello everyone..!

first of all Congratulations on your new initiative for the indian literacy.
i like travelling and mostly travel at different places.
so i think it would be very proud for me to contribute for this project. I can share this kind of information because i travel mostly rural places of india.

I have seen many rural schools where this kind of facility is not available, which is available in urban schools.
And your project will be very beneficial for these kind of children.
I would like to know more information about this project where i could share my experience and talk about the future results of this program.

Wish you all a good future ahead

Thanks & Regards,

@JuanCh,

okay, this is really valuable and when posting pictures on Google Maps it is important to remember that different kind of peoples and children use it.

As longer I‘m here in the LG forum, as more I understand the dimensions of our contribution. So, as more I reflect what I really like to load up....

It was a surprise for me, that I have to think so long about, what content really could help the children in school...

I selected this place, where I was last Tuesday. It is a science boat.

"How your photos can help teach children in India"
Children in India are so fast & well informed on the advent of smart phone & the accessibility to internet educationalvideos,Softwares, Applications, on line registerations, purchases, booking, appointmets etc & News site too, so much that they grasp the content so quickly that the elders depend on their children to learn new techniques in any such internet applications, computer management from them.
All that is required for the elders is to travel abreast with them so that we do not lag behind.

Still this will not preempt the fact that a dedicated photographer will just not upload a photo but the one that speaks more than an article / review on that with just an appropriate title tagged to that.
In my photographs relating to such an important place that should be comprehensible to anyone that views them, I ensure to add multi-lingual title with at least the native languages appended to the title so as to insire the viewer to learn the script they are not used to.
