Contest & Benefit: Le Tote Subscription (USA)

Googler

lg_letote_contestpage_1920x700.png

We’re always on the lookout for new benefits for Local Guides. This month, we teamed up with Le Tote, a women’s fashion subscription service that allows you to borrow clothing and accessories for work, weekend and everything in between. A new wardrobe calls for new occasions to show it off — so use this as an excuse to get out and enjoy new places near you!

Benefit

Local Guides Level 4+ in the United States received an email with an exclusive benefit: one month free of Le Tote ($59 USD value). Enjoy the service yourself—or share it with a friend or loved one—and tag us on social media using #LocalGuides when you try out your first tote!

Contest

Review places you've visited anywhere in the world for a chance to win a year of Le Tote’s services ($531 USD value). Each review you write is a new entry in the contest, and the Local Guide who writes the most high-quality reviews on Google Maps wins. The contest runs through February 14, 2017, and is open to US Local Guides. Enter now.

We know you may have questions, so below, you’ll find a bunch of info we think will help.

What is Le Tote?

  • Le Tote is a women’s fashion subscription service that allows you to borrow clothes and accessories for work, weekend and everything in between.
  • Le Tote recommends pieces based on your preferences, but you can customize your tote before it ships.
  • You can pick from over 150 brands including French Connection, Vince Camuto, Free People and more.
  • If you choose to continue your subscription past the initial month, plans start at $39/month and Le Tote offers classic and maternity subscriptions.

How do I activate the code?

Refer to the email sent to you from Local Guides to find your code. Enter your promotion code on LeTote.com or on Le Tote's app on iPhone when asked if you have a promotion code during the billing information process to enjoy your free month.

I’m not into fashion. May I share my benefit or contest prize with a friend?

If fashion isn’t your thing, pass it along to someone who would appreciate it (hey, Valentine’s Day is coming up!). The benefit and contest prize are transferrable to a friend or family member, but you may not sell or exchange the benefit for money. And as always, contests and benefits are optional, so no need to participate if the prize doesn't interest you.

What if I’m already a member of Le Tote?

The one month free promotion is only valid for new members. If you are an existing Le Tote member, refer to the instructions in your email to learn how to contact us for a $15 Le Tote purchase credit instead.

What is the deadline for redeeming this benefit?

You must redeem this benefit by March 25, 2017.

Is this a recurring or a permanent benefit?

This is a one-time benefit for US Local Guides (as of January 20, 2017) and is valid until March 25, 2017.

Do I have to enter my credit card to redeem this perk?

Due to the fact that Le Tote is a rental subscription that requires its members to either send their pieces back, or purchase anything they wish to keep, Le Tote requires all members to input their card information at sign-up.

Will Le Tote automatically bill me for the next month after my free trial?

Billing will begin automatically upon the conclusion of your free trial.

How do I cancel my subscription if this isn’t for me?

You can cancel your Le Tote membership from your My Account page on letote.com or the Le Tote app, or by calling 844-899-8683 M-F 9am-5pm PST. If you do not wish to receive further totes, please cancel your account BEFORE you return your current tote. If you do not wish to receive totes beyond the first free month, please cancel your account BEFORE your free month trial concludes to avoid membership fees. Once your account is canceled, please be sure to return your tote at least 3 business days before your next billing date.

I don’t live in the United States and I want a benefit/contest. How do I get one?

The Local Guides program is constantly evolving. Benefits and contests may be offered from time to time. If you have a partner you would like the team to work with or a benefit you would like to see offered in your area, we welcome your feedback in the comments below. That's pretty cool, to be able to borrow wardrobes and return it. As someone that's too lazy to go shopping for clothes, I can actually use this. Hopefully they'll do men's clothing in the future 😛

Level 8

Free gifts are always welcome. Even if this isnt really my style. I'll pass it on to my roommate. Thanks Google, Good looking out. Also, great information @TraciC.

Googler

I'm so with you, @iyudhi! on shopping but also from the perspective that I always have serious buyer's remorse, so to be able to wear something first is awesome!

Glad to hear you like the information, @Justin-A and that you're passing it along to your roommate...nothing like feeling amazing by gifting something cool to someone else, just for being awesome yourself, eh? 🙂

I just became a Level 4, woot! Is it too late to receive the benefit? I think my wife would really like to try it out, but I didn't get an email 😞 Regardless, this is a great idea and I entered the review writing contest. Thank y'all for doing this, @TraciC.
Level 8

Hi, thanks for this Google. How exactly does this work? Sign up then enter code or entry by "telepathy?" LOL.

Hi @SpencerD. Congratulations on reaching Level 4! Unfortunately this benefit is for Local Guides who were Level 4+ by January 20. We're always working on something here at Local Guides so stay tuned for future benefits and if there's something you'd like to see (perhaps for you or for you to share with your wife), let us know here in the comments. In the meantime, perhaps your wife would be interested in entering the contest to win an entire year of Le Tote. 🙂

Hi @TraciC,

This sounds awesome and I'm going to sign my wife up for the month (I hope they do dude's clothes soon!). One thing in your post above confused me and I want to make sure I understand how this works. They have a 14-day, 1-box trial for anybody who signs up on their website. You list this free month as a $59 value, which sounds like a "real" free month, which would typically give you as many boxes as you can fit into the month given their 5-day turnaround time (I was just reading their FAQs). The "How do I cancel?"-section above leads me to believe we'll be charged for anything past the first box ("Please cancel your account before you return your first tote to avoid a second tote shipping out to you."). This sounds an awful lot like their 14-day, 1-box trial (but with some extra time for the 1 box). I don't know if you were just copying the language from their website and it's really a full month subscription (with multiple boxes) or if it's a one-box trial. Can you help clarify?

Thank you!

Hi @Mousetrap (oops tag fell off). This is indeed a true free month of Le Tote so as many totes as you can secure in a month are all yours! 🙂 The language has been updated in the FAQs to reflect that you must cancel your subscription prior to the end of your free month trial to avoid future membership fees.

Am I in the wrong place? Is local guides only for women or people who appreciate fashion? Is this just a paid excuse for a service to spam basically an advertisement to a captive audience? Sorry, but I didn't sign on to be spammed for services I care absolutely nothing about. Sure, I have always been a contributor to these sorts of efforts, but I was enticed further by promises of rewards, particularly Drive storage. But if this is what I get, something I would never ask for advertised to me, I'm out. I thought I was doing the community a favor by keeping data up to date, but this makes it not worth it.
Level 5

This is very nice however what about us guys? How about something for us to try. Do I detect a little discrimination towards men?....lol

Level 8

Something for the Wife to try out and see if she likes the service, risk free.

Thanks!!!

Level 4

Hello All Level 4's,

I just saw that they have a benefit for level 4+'s for Le Tote. I never received a email for this, does anyone know why or who I need to speak with to receive my email?

Thank You

I think it's just a benefit for being lvl4

It's free for the first month

Level 8

Thanks for clearing that up @TraciC. Like the idea of the program and the experience of this will be a great reason to blog, review and delineate the "crazy/sane" adventure for other Google users and guides. Now "Google" girls will be "getting thier fashion on" with @LeTote.com. I am signed up and ready to go.

The code did not work for me. It produced an error after I went through all of the steps.  Bad gateway, then when I went back it would NOT take my code. Frustrated with this supposed benefit.

Hi @RubyK. Sorry to hear you had trouble redeeming the code. A member of our team will be in touch privately via email with details to redeem your benefit.

Hi @BrookeS. It looks like you are a Level 2 Local Guide (looking at your Connect badge) and this offer was for Level 4+ Local Guides as of January 20th. Hope this info (or the above info) helps.

hi all!

Maybe i am jealous or  something,  but I think it'se not right that we don't ever had any competitions in my area. (Finland) We don't even have anyone as a Regional Lead, and it takes sometimes weeks to solve some easy problems while adding places, for example. Last year I did in few months over 1100 changes, added places and photos, correct wrong info, make phone calls to local business to make sure all information is correct and much more. I don't know anyone in my area who is active Local Guide, but it would be nice to see someone who also have passion to do this volunteer job. I love to do this, but sometimes it would be nice if You could make competition or treasure hunt here too. And if I ever get enough money, i'm really going to fly somewhere, where is Local Guide meeting and going to have some fun with other Local Guides.  We don't have anyone LG groups in Finland, which is sad. Please invite me to somewhere to see other LG'se.

Hi @TomiFinland. Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. The team is always working on opportunities for Local Guides in our global markets. As noted above, "...if you have a partner you would like the team to work with or a benefit you would like to see offered in your area, we welcome your feedback in the comments below. " I took a look at the communities My Map linked to from the Help Center and there's an unofficial supported community in Finland but we created Connect to be the official, global community where Local Guides can connect with one another whether they live across the street or across the globe. You can find Local Guides from your area by searching the community for mentions of your country/city/area to find posts that have that name in the title, in the body of the post of the location tagged in the post. When posting about something specific to your area, I always suggest adding a location to your post to help others find your posts, too (though that doesn't apply here as this is a comment on a blog post that doesn't have locations).
