"Are you here now?"

There have been many times where I am at a location like LAX, Terminal 1, a National Park, etc... The pin that names the place is a 500 meters away, like at Los Angeles, or even 100 meters, and I can't press the dropdown that says, I am here now. This is very frustrating if you are trying to checkin on your maps for your confirmed time-line. 

Is this the way it has always been? Is there any plans to change it so that if you are close to the pin, you can press I am here?

Sometimes it does mesbehave when used too much. I'm not saying you used it to much but this is the main reason. I can take more than 5 days to work properly.
