University Walking Pathways

Hello Everyone,

Does anyone know how I can submit new walking paths to be added to Google maps?  I represent a University and we are rolling out our mobile app.  I would like to be able to provide walking directions from building to building in that app, but the pathways that exist are not mapped.  Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

You have two options.

First I'll mention that roads and parallel paths are not mapped separately, just to set your expectations.

You can request each path that is not parallel to a road in Maps by using the option in Feedback to add a road.  A path in Maps is just a road with vehicular restrictions.  Most paths are unnamed, so you would leave the name blank and then in the Notes field mention that is is walking only, or walking and biking only.

There is also the option for the university to submit their digital information via the Map Content Partners program.
