Reviews disappearing from Google Maps

It seems that some reviews (not a lot) from my account have disappeared from Google Maps and when I revisit that spot, I am invitef by Maps to submit my review(s) all over again. However, the review in wuestion still appears in my listing for Local Guides where it is apparently available for editing or other use.
