Odd Check-the-Facts Suggestions

Recently, I've seen an unusually large number of suggested edits to change the category of established restaurants from the specific restaurant type (e.g,. Italian Restaurant, Barbecue Restaurant, etc.) to simply Restaurant.

Has anyone noticed this? I don't know if this is a glitch or not, but a typical "Check the facts" session doesn't reflect many suggested edits to change the category of well-known restaurants. 

I ask because there are a handful of unscrupulous Local Guides who click YES to everything to pack on the points. I hope the majority of us are able to help each of these restaurants keep their category as-is if it's accurate.

Also, the Explore and restaurant search functionalities on Google Maps would not work well if everything was categorized as a plain Restaurant. (see screenshots below)

I, You have a valid point. Generalisation will not help much, especially in Restaurants. I totally agree with you.
