Missing archaeological site category [wikipedia.org]
The closest applicable category is "Archaeological museum" but it does not apply at all to these open air ones but still of high of tourist interest ones.
It's so bad the Forum in Rome has the "historical place" category.
This dumbing down is unacceptable. Almost insulting to users.

You make an interesting point but we have to be aware that just because a category is unavailable, doesn't mean it is missing - it may be deliberately omitted. Not everything is mappable.

Yes and i agree with google that locations like bus stops, train stations and other critically important locations must not be normally editable.
I think "Archaeological site" bears none of such criticality and is on par with "Tourist attraction" or "Historical place"... which is also a duplicate of "Historical landmark". The mind boggles.

Hi @LStefanoL,
It is mentioned in the Mapmaker Forum that, review of Categories is part of the Graduation activities into Maps.
So for any Categories issue, I think it is the time to use Send Feedback to inform Maps team.
