Where is the best spot to place your map marker:

at the center of the building

At the center of the plot of land

At the Central to the plot

Hi @FSSTSTL, Best place is at the geometrical center of the occupied area, it can be a room inside a building, whole building, land or a combination of these.

But also notice to check the address after inserting the marker because maybe not to be most accurate address from the best street to the place and this can cause routing problem.

Neither of the 3.
At the entrance of the building seems more appropriate.
While searching for directions you get to see the distance from your selected location to the point of entry. Seems to be more exact. And it helps to get the correct walking distance suppose you are marking distance in a small area (say a campus) too.

Hi @GauravM, at the entrance is not suitable choice because it doesn't refer to whole area. Moreover in many cases this causes to show icons on the street (due to zoom level) and this is wrong.

The rules of the map require the marker to be placed at the middle of the business, not at the entrance.
