Local Guide 7 and about 10 000 points extra, what's going on?

Local Guide 7 and about 10 000 points extra, what's going on?

I haven't been able to work properly with google maps since 1st of march 2017, when will this madness end?

All my tours and pictures are moved around after updates.

I don't even see a point of correcting it anymore, as they will be moved again in a few days.

Hi @PatricL this is only a new point system to count your contributes, doesn't affect any of the workflow for approval or creation of tours.

Could you please be more specific?

Ok, 2 updates at same time with different effect.

Got the new pointsystem now, almost.

At same time, a big part of my spheres in an area was moved several km.

Think of it this way.

You place 4 see thought sheets on top of each other, each one hold some info of each sphere you placed on them.

For example.

1st layer GPS

2nd layer Map listing

3rd layer your corrections

4th layer POI location

Each one with different priority, changed now and then.

Most of the time this places line up, almost.

When they do, everything is ok.

But...

If you grab one of this sheets and drag it in one direction, now it doesn't line up anymore.

If you grab another sheet and drag it in another direction, it's getting really messy.

Then you keep on grabbing sheet after sheet and move them around.

Total confusion.

Here is a map example

Everything looks great, arrow showing dirt road.

Turn 90° to the left and you will today see an arrow pointing down the hill.

But if you click, you end up on other side of street behind your position.

After an update, this arrow will point in another direction, and you will end up in a new place.

If you look at mini-map, it looks like blue dot and your position isn't lining up properly.

Each update makes dot and position slide around a bit in random direction.

Even worse, in different layouts, different sheets has priority showing position of sphere.

What controls this phenomena, and how can I correct this, for me it's been going on since 1st of march 2017.

Last night a few spheres took quite long jumps on the map, up to 80km north, never been that much before, and I got 10000 points at the same time.

Obviously 2 separate issues, I just connected them to one problem, my mistake.

There seem to be a problem in general with lining up this layers.

If there is an option to move and connect spheres, why do they move around after you done this.

Never to a correct position, only further and further away from it's origin or corrected position?

On this picture there is a black, red, blue dot, an arrow and pin man.

Pin man is where I placed sphere.

Blue dot is where Map placed my sphere in one layer.

But clicking on it only show pin man where I placed sphere.

Black dot is where Map think my sphere is in another layer.

Red dot is where my tour and Streetview meet each other.

You can see arrow pointing away from road, but clicking on it make you end up on the red dot on road,

as you where coming from the black dot.

Confused?

All my tours becomes like this after 1st of march.

Not a big problem you think?

Ok, this tour is far away from other tours.

In cites where you have multiple tours and levels, guess if it's a mess.

Arrows pointing in every directions and other tours hijack people when they are walking in a tour,

most of the time you can't get back to tour you started on.

Would be nice with a solution for this problem, it sort of spoil the whole experience.

As far as I can see, this problem is world wide.

Test this tour in previous post and see if you understand it.
