It has step by step directions for adding places onto Maps for Android, Desktop and iPhone/iPad.

Give it a try. Note that there are some places that you cannot add eg. private properties, online business, etc.

A village is a political feature, in Google Map terminology, and not a point-of-interest, or "place".

 

Therefore this user must employ the steps: "Send feedback", then "Your opinions about maps", as this is the only way to send feedback about political features.
