If listings are duplicated and opened one is verified the best and fast way is to contact with Google My Business support than Report the problem on Maps (which is also a proper way).
You should not open or claim to verification listing which is in REAL WORLD closed.

Thanks for providing this tip. I too have an accidental duplicate listing. I thank Google for helping me realize it, however I'm also having difficulty moving forward with the listing which has the most time and effort invested, and simply closing the listing which doesn't even have the accurate address.
