@Flash I have some personal knowledge of the structure these mlm use and they do not fall under a franchise model. Scentsy calls them "Independent Scentsy Consultant" and more broadly we would consider them independent retailers (some sell more then one or switch from avon to mary kay). The only locations i believe are actual franchises are some of the brick and mortar Avon stores, otherwise everything mlm related is considered independent (franchisers have a continuing legal responsibility when they sell a franchise and get specific franchise fees)
sales from the website skip the end retailer and are (affiliate) commission based, whereas generally the retailers can control pricing otherwise. some have entirely separate cart sites and others have non cart sites that they control.
here is an example of the type of naming they are supposed to use (according to scentsy)
this listing says 24/7 but i have no idea what acceptable hours are i called some before and they usually say they are 247 because of online orders
i have spent plenty of time helping photographers hide their home address and getting them to set phone hours vs working hours (some of them do weddings that end at 2am but those arent the correct hours for google maps)
im not going to argue with some hun that sells avon from her extra bedroom about 247 hours or that is repeatedly unhiding there home address
