Club vs. Night Club vs. Small Night Club vs. Disco Club

Folks, I'm lost here.

What's the definition and distiction between the named categories?

Btw it gets worse in the translations (English → German)...

  • Small Night Club → Club
  • Night Club → Nachtclub
  • Disco Club → Diskothek
  • Club → Verein

...as German speakers usually categorize any kind of discotheque (offering music and drinks, usually at nicht) as "Club" and not as "Nachtclub" and really really rarely as "Diskothek" which leads to definitely wrong data as these are then categorized as "Small Night Clubs" which they (usually) aren't.

To get this sorted, especially the difference between "Disco Club" and "Night Club" would be important to know (together with an idea of when a night club is "small").

Thanks

Here is my understanding based on the Namings traditions in Hong Kong, not based on the understanding on what they mean in Maps.

A small scale Night Club.  Essential service are there, will less choices

>Night Club → Nachtclub

The Night Club can arrange someone to accompany you while you are spending your time there.  You might need to pay everything they eat/drink, or even some time based charges.

>Disco Club → Diskothek

The place provide music and a dancing

>Club → Verein

For general use, it means only members are entertained.  So you might need to spend 5 minutes to fill in the forms to become member.  Like Karaoke Club in the old times, or Volley Ball Clubs, etc.
