One of the other reasons to follow this wise advice is the simple fact that desktops have larger screens and better editing facilities than most smartphones and so it can make it easier to use cut-and-paste for some of the details, particularly in the case of web links.
I didn't realise that adding a photo when creating a new POI was recommended.
Does this have to be your own or can a screenshot from a Trusted Photographer's 360 street view be used temporarily to establish the location ?
