Finally, the South Asia Meetup has come to end, where local guides from different countries including Bangladesh, India, Nepal & Sri lanka had come to meet each other. It started on 25th March & had come to end by 30th of March.
There add just few photos more Photos post soon
On 25th March, our meet-up activity started in Kolkata from Victoria Memorial Hall & continued with Millennium Park, Fairly Place, sailing on the Ganges River, travelling the famous Howrah Station, Howrah Bridge & ended up with the New Market Area.By this time, we have added many missed information & places. However, we also had a photo walk in this time frame.
Then,in the Siliguri city, after having some photo walk & editing up the missed places,we started journey for Darjeeling.
On 26th March, after visiting the Mall Square of Darjeeling, we went for Raj Bhaban, Bhanu Bhawan, Nawang Gombu Sherpa Square, Flower Nursery & Market and finally, the Happy Valley Tea Garden & the famous Darjeeling Rail Station.
On 27th March, we went on to Tea Garden, Tenzing Rock Climbing Point where people usually climb rocks. There was also Ropeway, which is around 3 k.m.Travelling through the ropeway, in cable car, you can get a scenic view of the whole city from the top. Then,we headed for Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, where all types of animals from Himalayan region were kept, and special thing to note that, there are still some rare animals reserved here,in order to save them from extinction. After we came out of the zoo,we went to Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, which trains Mount Averest or Mountain Climbers. There is a huge garden, where unique types of flower trees are present till now. Then,we were present in the Bengal Natural History Museum, which has a collection of mommies of different species of animals from the Bengal Region. Our next target was the Japanese Temple, which is one of the most beautiful places of Darjeeling.Next, we went to the Ghum Station, which is being operated from the British reign with the steam engine coal system and it is also the highest railway station in the Indian region. Our next destination was the Batasia Loop, which is another reknowned tourist attraction. Finally, we went to the Ghum Monastery, which is a sacred place for the Buddhists. There was a religious school and also worship centre. At night, we tasted the street foods of Darjeeling.
On 28th March, we started for Kalimpong. At first, we went to the Rock Garden, which is situated at one side of the city. There was also a tea garden in the way, where we spent some of our memorable moments. Rock Garden has a fountain which consists of three stages of waterfall. One who is not present at the very moment, cannot feel the sound of the waterfall. Then,we went to Lovers Meet View Point, which is the origin of the Teesta River, and you can get a spectacular view of the Sikkim State & West Bengal from there. After that,we went to the highest place of Kalimpong,Durpin. It is a three storied temple for the Buddhist community. Later, we went to the Paragliding Point, where one of our local guides participated in paragliding.Next,we went to the Kalimpong Science Centre and finally to the Hanuman Temple. After finishing our journey, we went back to Darjeeling.
On 29th March, we left Darjeeling & started our journey for Mirik.By this time, we went to the famous Gopal Dhara Garden's Goal Pahar Tea Garden & drank some tea there. After travelling the Mirik Lake, we started our journey for Siliguri. In this time, Nepal Local Guides said Goodbye to us.
On 30th March, we, Bangladesh Local Guides, visited Nakhoda Mosque, Tipu Sultan Mosque, Boro Bazar & New Market Area in Kolkata.
During this whole journey, we had a local guide with us,named . . . who travelled around . . . . km by cycling
