Ramadan Celebration- Inspired Iftar

There was a 5 years old kid, his right palm was missing. His name was Shubho.

There was another 8 years old girl, she is a 3rd grade student in the slum school. Her name was Sumaiya.

There was this little kid, not more than 3. She barely could tell her name, Lucky.

There was Mushfiq, Shorna, Mithun and some more.

They all were our guests today.

Join us for the prayers as we break our fast with the under privileged- that was the theme for our 71st meetup. We invited all with this request and it turned out to be a bonanza.

A bunch of Bangladesh Local Guides members gathered today to break their fast with some under privileged children at a food court in one of the posh shopping malls in Dhaka city. These kids probably would never have a chance to go inside the mall, but they were escorted by our members, as they were our guests of honor today. It felt so good to have them with us while we broke our fast.

The idea was to share our food with the under privileged children. Whatever we eat for breaking fast, each of us will share the same food with another kid. And the kids loved their food.

Breaking fast has never been so fulfilling before it seemed. The smile on the kids' faces were so precious that money can never buy.

Someone said it right, sharing is caring. Shubho, Sumaiya, Lucky of Mushfiq, they all are the resemblances of our own youth. It's their ill fate that they were born in slum. But that could not stop them from being happy. I just hope and pray, one day these kids grow up to be great humans. Eagerly looking forward to that day.

These were really amazing moments.
These little kids are so good to be able to smile for a few minutes in the face of a few words which are not expressive in the language.

thank you all BDLG 🙂

I love this @SoniaK!  No meal tastes better than one shared with others.  Hopefully all these children will grow up and pay this kind deed forward for others.
