What happened during our meetup?

We started off by ordering coffee at SeaHouse Cafe' where we hosted our event. As It was our first meetup, we introduced each other over Lavazza Coffee! After introducing each other we talked about #LocalGuides #StreetViewPhotography and how we are going to organise our next meetup. We also discussed spammers spamming some local business website url's particularly. Another important thing we discussed was about quality reviewing. Everyone agreed to post a photo with our reviews in future.  As Male' City the capital is a small city, most of us have actually bumped each other several times before, though some of us have not sat together and we took the opportunity to break the ice and know more about each other. After that below is the conclusion of our meetup.

Decision:

  • To have a regular meetup every month.
  • Plan a Geo Walk during the weekend.
  • Print our own T-shirts, Souvenirs for Maldives Local Guides.
  • Encourage more Local Guides to connect Maldives Local Guides, Minimum 1 member from each island. (Total 200+ islands). Everyone agreed to have our presence on each and every island in the Maldives and get them involved in Local Guides Connect.

Re: [RECAP] Maldives Local Guides Meetup 14th April 2017 - Male' Maldives

Hi @LucioV

Today transportation are easy and more than 1/3rd of the population lives in capital Male' City and nearby. We will try to have virtual meetings or hangouts with fellow community members  as Maldives has reliable internet connectivity across the nation.

Also here is a list of airports in the Maldives now. For a small country like Maldives this is good. Yes, Multiple flights daily. 🙂 And also you can catch up a ferry or speed boat service if you wish to travel by sea.

Here is a handy tip incase any Local Guides visits Maldives. 🙂

@Badruddeen Great. Your future plans will definitely help to improve maps and Local Guides Connect. @Badruddeen Are you coming to Sri Lanka? We can meet and have a chat about Local Guides activities.

Great job @Badruddeen!

I know in Maldive movement is not so easy, some remote islands are at more than 1 navigation day, and arrange a country size event could be very problematic!

Congratulations for your achievements!

Best wishes for your future meetups!
