I was surprised to see that no one in NY was hosting a meet up for National Park Service Centennial Local Guides Connect! So, I decided to set one up.
Where: Meet at African Burial Grounds, National Park in NYC
Map: https://goo.gl/maps/9cjDhMqSCus
Web site: https://www.nps.gov/AFBG/index.htm
Date: August 21, 2016
Time: 12 noon
Plan: We will start at the African Burial Ground Monument. Admission is FREE. After we gather and learn a bit, we will take a photowalk down Broadway. We will pass through / by City Hall Park, pass Trinity Church, pass the Charging Bull, and end in Battery Park, the site of another famous national park in NYC - Castle Clinton. The entire walk is about 1 mile long.

I wasn't sure where to put them! We used the hashtag #thatGoogleMeet.

@crissibeth Looks like it was a fun time. We use #LocalGuides for all Local Guides-related activities (events, meet-ups, discoveries, etc.) and for the Centennial events, we added #NPS100. These hashtags apply to all social networks, too. Local Guides love liking each other's posts!
