Malaysia Local Guides Meet-up Recap, 5 Nov, 2017

[Malaysia Local Guides Meet-up Recap] 5 Nov, 2017

This event: https://maps.google.com/localguides/meetup/world-vegan-day-food-crawl-my

It was a rainy day this Sunday morning, and Local Guides still made it for a casual meet up celebration coinciding withe the Malaysian Vegan Food Fair in Publika Shopping Gallery on 5th Nov 2017. The Malaysian Vegan Food Fair was organized by the Malaysian Vegan Society, and the day was filled with many interesting talks and sharing, even a Yoga practice session earlier in the day. And there were about 20 booths set up for vegan suppliers show-casing their vegan organic products and produce.

Today we had only a small group of participants, mainly because there were a few other programs going on in town where at least a few of our active members were involved in. And also because of the heavy rain throughout the day, that may have discouraged some from joining. Nevertheless, a few of us made it, and we were going to try to make the best of it and have a wonderful day.

We went through all the booths and had many free samples tasting varieties of products and getting good information about health benefits of these. Some of items that were or real interest includes organic Moringa powder, vegan ice cream made with coconut, organic nutmeg water, and lots of food. The vegan ice cream tasted particularly awesome. And some of the dried vegetable snacks were just amazing. There was so many different types of vegan food sold here, we felt we could go full vegan without any regrets.

After making our rounds and spending time with each other, we headed for a vegetarian lunch and coffee and had a real good bonding session. (The below 360-photo is hosted by a 3rd party site and may take some time to load)

After the nice meal, we were off taking photos, updating some information in Maps and checking accessibility of the businesses there. Any effort in making Maps better is beneficial to the community.

We could have had more participants if not for the rather heavy rain, and that there were other programs that some of our other Local Guides were busy with on the day, and some of our active members were out-station. Today was a really enjoyable day and we will have more meet ups in the near future. Keep following our posts here and join us next time.
