Happy Democracy Day Nigeria

Today, we commemorate the return of civil leadership in Nigeria. After several years of military rule, Africa’s largest country began a new journey as a republic. On 29th May 1999, a newly elected President was sworn-in and since then we have transitioned successfully as a democracy.

Nigeria observes May 29 as a public holiday to celebrate this great stride.

Nicely done @EmekaUlor

It boasts of the longest canopy walkway in Africa and the second largest in the world next to Taman Negara National Park Malaysia which streaches for 500 meters. The LCC at it's highest point stands at 22.5 meters, it's walkway is 401 meters long and 0.6 meters wide. View from the top of the longest canopy walkway in Africa yet.View from the top of the longest canopy walkway in Africa yet.

@EmekaUlor

Nigeria is:

- like Germany a Federal Republic

- has the biggest economic power in Africa (in front of South Africa)

- mainly exporting petroleum

- has still some challenges to manage (eg. Supply of clean water 💦 and poliomyelitis), but will have the power to manage this.

And I believe: Has the most active LG Community in Africa!!!!

All the best for you Democracy Day!

Democracy is not the easiest way, but by far the best.
