Re: Suggest me a phone that can take 360 photos....

Hi @NewFolder5

The very feature that is required for this is the gyroscope. Look what I found here:

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/4347143/which-android-phones-out-there-do-have-a-gyroscope

There is a long list of phones in the answer - but please, be careful as I am really not sure what these phones are actually capable of (and also what thier cameras' capabilities are).

I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 (Edge) and it can take these panoramic images (even its native Samsung Camera App has this feature) but certainly this is not the lowest cost, budget phone.

What I would suggest is to look for details of these phones on the internet. Price is an easy thing to look up, make a list of the ones that you think you can afford, and maybe even go to mobile phone shops, ask the dealers to install Google's Street View App and try if it works.

Once you launch the app, you will need to go to the "Private" tab and tap on the "Open camera" link at the bottom. It will immediately turn out if the phone is compatible with the SV App or not.

Hi @NewFolder5,

Normally, we can use the Street View app to take PhotoSpheres.

Is the StreetView app available in your Region?  For your device?

Re: Suggest me a phone that can take 360 photos....

Phones from Google should be safe, @NewFolder5.

Google has another Mobile Phone series call Android One for specific countries.  https://www.android.com/intl/en_in/one/

Asus also has a value line of phones, I have Asus ZenPhone 2 Laser (not sure if it is expensive in your budget), which can use StreetView with Android 5 without problems.

If you can have hands on experience on a phone, as the shop to install StreetView app, play with it to make sure it can capture PhotoSpheres.

(Some mobile phone use their own Camera app, which sometime their output is not confirming to StreetView requirement, even if they can capture 360 photos.  Please always double check before investing.)

Re: Suggest me a phone that can take 360 photos....

Hi @NewFolder5 again,

I later realized that the stackoverflow discussion I linked to is more than 4 years old.

Here is a link to GSMArena with a phone finder feature set list of phones that are supposed to have gyroscope:

http://www.gsmarena.com/results.php3?chkAccelerometer=selected&chkGyro=selected&chkCompass=selected&...

More than 700 items.

Here is an article that compares some of these features (including gyro):

https://www.quora.com/Sensors-What-is-the-difference-between-accelerometers-gyroscopes-and-magnetome...

Note that (as far as I understand), a simple gyro sensor is not the same as a gyroscope - but then I am not sure of course. You really need to try the phone before investing.

Re: Suggest me a phone that can take 360 photos....

Samsung s3 can do the job. The camera needs an extra quarter of a second to stabilize each part of the 360 picture.

The photos are allright and it's affordable.

Re: Suggest me a phone that can take 360 photos....

you just install panorama 360 app from play store, then capture photos from that app after that in google street view app you can import it and contribute it. once you try.

Re: Suggest me a phone that can take 360 photos....

Yes, @SoumikR, but that app also needs a phone with gyroscope. I've been there with my previous (incompatible) Samsung mobile.
