How do I get a change reviewed with priority or ensure it actually happens?
A regional chain of shops has had the phone number for each of their locations changed maliciously to a number which charges a premium rate for access. As a result of this erroneous number, people are being charged and the scammer who made the change is making money.
I have submitted changes for each location to use the correct number. How do I make sure this is changed?

There's no way to expedite individual reviews, no priority or fast track system.
You could mention a mass spamming event here by posting links to some of the stores and see if a Google Mod picks it up, but they may just say you have to wait

Are they all the same region? Share the link to the place. If you know other LG in the area they might be able to "review" your corrections, even if you can't see them under your own map.
(I ran into a similar frustration with an amateur repeatedly changing a name of a local business rather than closing it and opening a new one under his own business name. It never stayed fixed long enough to close the old business.)

Here is one of them https://goo.gl/maps/8s8R6S9okXz
I have re-submitted a phone number change for them again today.
One of them has the correct number now, which is the Paisley branch https://goo.gl/maps/cJrGcuYxTRq

The mechanics of helping check these reviews make this difficult.
If I follow your links, then click to "My Contributions" to "Check the Facts", Maps transports/translates my viewpoint camera back to my side of the world. This is truly an annoying feature. I've overcome this inconvenience by opening your link twice, then zooming out and manually tracking back to Glasgow.
I have found several of the Glasgow stores, and I do see the phone numbers have changes suggested. But I need you to to give me a list of which numbers are correct for which stores, because all it provides to me is "Name" and is "is this xxxxxxx number correct?"

Hi @MichaelGwiz from several discussion we had with Google Moderators, this is not a nice way to promote your updates for approval: https://www.localguidesconnect.com/t5/forums/v3_1/forumtopicpage/board-id/Mapping/page/1/thread-id/6...

Just to let you know, i was able to find your "fact checking":
But i can have enough information to approve or refuse your change request, because, if i search for Shop directory inside St Enoch mall, i find another phone number:
http://www.st-enoch.com/stores/game/
And if i search for Game shop using postal code, i obtain a page without phone number:
So as for the thread i linked you, i cannot help you, with checking this fact.
Sorry,
Lucio

@LucioV Good to know!
It seemed to be standard practice back in the previous forums (ie for Map Maker) for people to post in their changes for others to review.
So my understanding from your link is that it's no longer acceptable to post in places for review/confirmation - unless the people using such information had first hand information themselves.
So should @cr41g1w post in the list of places and either the correct phone numbers or the offending spam numbers? And maybe a citation. Or no?
(I'm thinking of how another LG, who might be in that area (Glasgow) would be able to use Craig's info to keep the information correct.)

Yes it's not working anymore as like the past, with review request handled by RL.
Thanks @MichaelGwiz

The 0141 number is a local number for that branch. The 020 number is a central number for all branches. I have submitted updates to all branches other than the Glasgow one.
