1. I have contributed over 2,600 photos on Google Maps, which I would like to 'keep' on Google Maps.
2. Problem: they are showing up on my Android phone Gallery. I believe it drains battery.
3. After uploading these pictures on Google Maps, I do not want them on my Android phone, yet they show up as photos with the google insignia on them, which I can only share or upload, but not delete.
I have tried:
1. Uploading them on Google Photos, but they remain on my Android phone,
2. Uninstalling Google Photos;
3. No back-up of Google; or Google Maps.
4. No sync with any app;
5. No sync with Picasso, etc.
Also, when I try deleting them on Google Photos app, it deletes them on Google Maps, and I wish to 'keep' them on Google Maps.
6. So, how to delete them on my Android phone Gallery, but keep them on Google Maps?

Hello my dear @RenataH hope you are fine today.
let me help you on this topic. When you upload a photo to google map it automatically save into google photos. This won't use your phone's storage.
yes my dear photo uploaded to google map will not be available in your phone.
