Adding a new place on the Maps is supposed to be easy. You say you tried adding several times but failed. Here are several tips you can corroborate the place you add:
1) Be sure whether the place you add is existing. The name of the place may be slightly varied, but the place still may exist.
2) Justify all inputs (name of the place, the actual address, phone number, internet address, category, and open hours) by checking the proper contacts of the place you add i.e. go to the internet site of the place and check the phone number, the actual address, etc.
3) If possible, support your added place by proper photos associated with the new place.
