Don't get your hopes up, I have been waiting more then 2 years for the exact same problem in SA to be fixed.

Have a scammer changing shopping centers with thousands of reviews to FNB ATM, changing to ATM and the email address,. Unable to change it back.

Seems ounce they "ban" a guide the ex guides goes on a revenge spam attack, and there's absolutely nothing Google maps or local guides connect can do to stop this person because you don't have to be signed in to edit or be a guide. 

Problem comes trying to change it back but us guides gets the famous not applied feedback.

Local guide connect admins creates these "creature's" by banning for just because so all there years of work goes down the drain.

Wouldn't a suspension for 3 months before life time banning work?

Inspite of putting all the information accurately i always get a feedback " Not Applied " when i try to add ATM .

I have noticed that few name changes still remained on pending status for a long time. I am also not sure how the editing approval process is done. But if any kind of assistance from my end can help to make the process faster and easier, I am ready to consider it.

This is because, it was not reviewed by any other local guide the information you have given is surely correct but this google AI understands algorithms.

As google wants truly data which is 100 present correct, dont worry it take time,when it understand it it surely approved your data uploaded.

For some reason my fully sourced and linked version of this post will not post, so here is the neutered version

It is quite discouraging when it happens too often, or for no logical reason.

I suspect my invisible rating has been downgraded because too many of my edits have been on the informational cutting edge, or not applied  because there was a problem with the road edit submission subsystem. 

Case in point:  the US Navy SPAWAR recently changed it's name to NIWC.  But an attempted edit to correct the name and the now 404'ed website address were denied.   

Another example,  Madra Rua in North Charleston SC recently was burnt to a shell, but repeated edits to mark it as closed are denied. 

I even submitted some of the pictures on the web as proof, and it was still not applied. 

But the two most maddening ones are the result of last year's Kilauea eruption.   

Hawaiian Tropicals Direct no longer exists in any recognizable physical form, yet the location sits unchanged and corrective edits are not applied. 

And of course the crater rim drive parking area.  

THE EDGE OF THE CRATER COLLAPSED AND TOOK THE PARKING AREA AND PART OF THE ROAD WITH IT, yet my edit was denied.  

There needs to be an option to show supporting primary source evidence, besides photos, for an edit. 

Also some feedback is needed as to why an edit was not applied, instead of an all encompassing, yet totally uninformative  "Not Applied".

@AlexaAC - Thank you for the responses however I will say they seem somewhat dismissive.

1. Your suggestion that you have guidelines and take many different factors into consideration do not tell me any weakness in my submission. The guidelines you cited and which I read offered me nothing for this scenario.

2. I provided all available info and you suggest edits might take longer with limited info. My submission is not being checked. It was 'Not applied' instantly.

3. You mention about regions of the world with limited info. I live in one of the most densely populated areas in the United States of America.

4. I can make the contributions more detailed if Google provides us with more options to provide that detail. That being said I have already provided High resolution 360° imagery as evidence of the request to add a place.

5. My edit is not being reviewed. It was 'Not applied'

6. I need my previous question answered. Do we have particular moderators for our Geographic areas?

7. When you move a post it seems to make it not possible to reply. Please dont do that unless the issue/post is resolved.

Estou com um problema em editar um local no mapa , eu sugeri ao google maps alteração de nome e horário de um posto de gasolina  porém foi recusada , mas um detalhe bem interessante que eu trabalho na administração do posto .

Eu fiz a sugestão de 24 Horas de funcionamento , pedi para alterar o nome de Br Petrobras(retiramos a bandeira) para Posto Tulipa Ltda .

I had added a missing place and got mail:

it's already taken more than 50 hours but still, the place is not listed on google maps.

the problem is at the place there is hosted an NGO event for 7 days and the place is far from the city. thousands of people will arrive daily to attend the event. if listing takes more time it will create problem to the public.

is there any way to make the process o listing faster.

Hi @prit, there is no way to make the process faster, read this forum, please. You say it's a place hosting an event, if the place already exists in google maps why you need create one more for the event? People look for the adress of the place or for the temporal event?

Hi @prit , what @CarlosAnido said is correct, and creating places for an event is quite unfair, because normally:

• The person that create the place, never close it when the event is ended, giving in this way wrong information in Google maps
• The event is normally in a place that already exist on Google maps (let say, an exhibition structure).

The correct procedure should be:

1. The Exhibition center should claim his business on GMB
2. The Exhibition center should publish the event

In this way the correct information will be given to the users

When it tells you not applied it means the edit is pending or rejected. If one of several ways they confirm the accuracy of the edit denies the edit or entry it will be rejected. There are also some cases Google doesn't have enough info available and it will stay in pending. Any place pending or rejected can't be edited and will say not applied.

When Not applied, you edit has not been approved

I think there is some misunderstanding caused here. Let me try to explain the matter. There was farm land there. As land was unused there was no listing on maps there. The government built that area and fenced there a month ago. After that, they named it XYZ. now XYZ is open plot and anyone can host event their by paying rent. we are first to do that. so problem is that XYZ(permanent name/address) is not listed yet there .and we trying to same. I hope now you are able to understand the situation. 

And the big problem was that the 7 days long event starts yesterdays and I was asked to solve problem 2 days ago.

In my opinion, the first step it should be somebody of the government or the city council the first to register it in some official website and then in https://business.google.com to make it fast, as localguide you can't make more than wait . Good luck

If we invent a place, at the very last minute, and this place will be alive for a week only, @prit , we will not help anyone.

The focus of this conversation is not about pending or not applied, but about "how to" manage temporary places created for an event, a week long, that will be probably re-opened one week every year.

I am asking @DeniGu to move (if she agree) all this part of conversation on a separate thread, so to be helpful for others

Hola, quiero compartir mi propia experiencia con el tema de “pendiente” o “no aplicado”.

Para entender el resultado final previamente os pongo en conocimiento y explico cómo se llega a ese resultado (como referencia diré que llevo 40 años viviendo en esta zona):

En mi zona hay muchas playas, “playas públicas” de libre acceso (aquí no existen playas privadas). Bien, cuando empecé vi que en el mejor de los casos se calificaban como: “Complejo turístico de playa” es decir, un negocio de playa o baños públicos (aquí eso equivale a WC), tras lo cual me decidí a ponerlas lo más correcto que pude y para sorpresa mía incluso después de buscar arduamente en los foros solo podía poner como aproximación: "Atracción turística", esto genero multitud de “no aplicado” y “pendiente”, finalmente opte por el envió de sugerencias que hay en el mapa: bajo->derecha, curiosamente algunas (unas pocas) aparecieron como playas públicas, una categoría que no me permite asignar a las demás y lo he intentado.

En mi zona, eminentemente turística hay mucho particular que por iniciativa propia sin ser empresa ni tener los permisos que son requeridos por la legislación, ponen su casa como “apartamento de vacaciones” “casa de campo”, “Agencia de alquiler de casas de vacaciones” (este último en un negocio online de alquileres) y claro: sugerir un cambio > Suprimir este lugar > “es un domicilio particular”, pues bien en algunos casos si en otros no, investigue un poco, es fácil la diferencia tienen teléfono o web … a pesar de ser domicilios privados si abren en “google bussines” no importa si son ilegales o no hay nadie, igualmente si tienen web en portales como trivago por ejemplo en ellas tampoco existe ningún método de comprobación de negocios fraudulentos o privados (di de alta un negocio ficticio con datos ficticios sin problemas en todos ellos) y a través de esos portales pueden añadir el marcador a google maps.

Pues bien, solo estoy obligado a hacer lo que puedo bien hecho, no estoy obligado a nada más, si añadimos el tema ese de los regalos o detalles de google con los LG, pues fácil respuesta NO ES MI PROBLEMA, si le da igual a google a mí también. Solo puedo intentar poner la mejor información de la que puedo disponer y si se aplica o no, o está pendiente …. Me da lo mismo no me importa.

Ahora ya ni me acuerdo de lo que puse hoy no lo reviso, si está aprobado o no aplicado no es importante, y sigo con lo que tengo y puedo ayudar, y digo ayudar a usuarios de la aplicación no a google, pues en más de una ocasión en mis viajes me vi perdido por que nadie puso cerrado o inexistente en alguno de mis destinos. (de aquí, esto último la razón que colabore como LG)

You are not violating any terms, @prit .

So what you want to open is, let say, the white house, in which the event is hosted. And the status of your submission is "pending", am I correct now? Well, it means that there are not enough information to confirm that your edit is true. There are several ways to confirm that an edit is true. As an example, through "Fact checking" other LGs can confirm or deny an edit. More submission of the same place, made by different LGs, can reinforce your edit.

But the best solution is to register the business through Google Mybusiness. Unfortunately this is an option that need to be activated by the owner of the business, so you cannot do this by yourself, you should involve the owner in this

Two funny facts:

1 - There's no automatic way to deny edits, I believed it but now I don't, has the unmistakable human touch and that's why it has no logic sometimes, yes, a lot of sometimes, yes, a huge lot of sometimes. It's human, remember? 😉

Poor humans beings dealing with a lot of stuff in short time because you, crazy and free local guides, don't stop adding places and more places every day, every second.

2- One "owner of business" is worth more than a thousand localguides, or a million, business is business. Who do you believe? Your eyes or their wallets? Go out, boy, the elders are talking.

Thank you for reaching out, @prit. You can add the XYZ plot to Google Maps as it is a permanent place, but you cannot add locations for temporary events. Once your edit is approved, you can share the Google Maps location link on your event communication channels. However, please keep in mind that we can't guarantee the time frame for reviewing your edit, apologies for that.

if there were no bans, real experts would very quickly correct the wrong edits. Decent and honest experts are much more than spammers. Is there something else behind the prohibitions? You give us service. We give you our time and content. This is a mutually beneficial cooperation. Maybe Google moderators completely relied on robots and forgot their responsibilities for checking added places and facts? There is one place which is wrongly listed near my home. This is some ATM of Bank which actually doesn't exists. I reported this several times but all time it says NOT APPLIED. This is really frustrating.

I've been adding and editing sites for a while. Now I'm getting the "not applied" status for a new site. Sent photos, addresses, even the menu (it's a restaurant) but once and then , the status is not applied. I dont know what else do I need to provide.

It's funny though, but yesterday I modified a site which has closed a few days ago and the update was applied straight away. IMHO it's far more dangerous to "close down" a site without a check than create a new one.

@JuanCarlosCamargo I have encountered similar situations. I suspect the first situation arises when the owner of the establishment has already taken ownership of the location on google, but has chosen to not show it on the map. For example, I tried to add a T-mobile Call Center to the map, but it was denied the same day. There needs to be better feedback than just the universal, yet totally uninformative, "Not Applied" The previous contribution system had this.

The local guide should be more encourage as they shared their reviews. There are some locations or review that are not well explained.

If a local guide work on this, they should be encouraged instead of stamping "not applied". Knowing fully well that this has cost them their data.

With regards to your query, my personal opinion is that if it doesn't work the first few times, stop. There's probably a good reason for it such as if the area is a private ground or if there is not enough evidence to show that the place is legitimate. I appreciate that it can be very frustrating when you're there and you know it's real! But your time can be best focused elsewhere too.
