How do I report inappropriate content on Connect?

Connect is a community forum for Local Guides from all over the world to start conversations, share their experiences, provide feedback, and more. We appreciate your help in keeping Connect a welcoming and helpful place.

If you discover a post that you think violates Local Guides Connect content policies or does not follow the original content guidelines, you can flag it as inappropriate to let us know and a Google Moderator will carefully review it.

To report a post, click the three dots on the left side of the post.

• Then, click Report Inappropriate Content.
• On the next screen, explain why you think the post is obscene, offensive, spam, or violates our policies.
• Click Notify Moderator to submit.   

Google Moderators will review all posts flagged as inappropriate to determine whether they violate any policies. If so, appropriate action will be taken to address the issue.

That's what we need to do more often. 

Just one quick question though. 

What to do with low quality posts? by low quality I mean random selfies, no info posts, blurry and out of context pictures, posts with zero information for the readers and perhaps sometimes posts created for no reason at all other than getting some likes. Honestly, I am no judge of what a quality Vs low quality post, but the human instinct clearly differentiates most of the material which was intended to get likes in first place that will hurt this platform in the longer run. 

So, coming back to that question, what to do about such posts?

I have a question in mind - if I see not useful comments/reviews for any location, can I flag it as "inappropriate comment"? For example, for Railway stations -I have seen people writing as "A must visit place". As this not a historic or memorable or of any entertainment place, this comment is not useful for readers.

Recently in the Japanese community, the number of people who are discouraged due to malicious mischief has increased, which often has a not good influence on human relations. Many of the conversations are related to the problem. That anger involves people who are not involved.

I want to concentrate on my activities, so I can not overlook this situation. Thank you for suggesting again at a good time.

Hello all. I may not be asking this in the right place, but perhaps someone can steer me to somewhere more appropriate. I recently had a review removed and I am very interested to learn why. In my review, I pointed out that the business had a lot of obvious fake reviews from phony profiles. This seems to be a growing problem on Google and I was considering becoming a customer of this particular business until my research discovered all of their fake reviews. I thought that I was doing a good deed, but instead my review was removed while all of the fake reviews remain!  I did not think that my review violated any terms, and I tried to limit it only to facts and observation that I could point out.

Muito bom o assunto, há pessoas as vezes não sabem que está colocando em publico uma determinado foto ou video, e há outros que colocam fotos e videos em lugares de alta visibilidade pra conseguir aparecerem mais vezes exemplo: um video ou foto de aniversario feito em casa ou restaurante postado no Cristo Redentor (ponto turistico do Brasil)

Raggiungi la community di Google My Business all'indirizzo g.co/gmbcommunity, dove i gestori della community e gli esperti saranno in grado di consigliarti di conseguenza.

Puoi creare un post in "Spam e policy" e spiegare la situazione che hai riscontrato.

Prendiamo molto sul serio la tua privacy, quindi sei libero di usare qualsiasi nome desideri per il tuo account Google (ad esempio non deve essere il tuo vero nome) o puoi usare un soprannome.

You can suggest an edit to the place you added in order to report it for removal, following the steps below:

1. Open Google Maps and find the location.
2. Click the Suggest an edit option.
3. Select "Place is permanently closed or has never existed", choose the reason for your edit and click Submit.

I have managed to identify who the person is and can confirm I have never had any dealings with them.

Furthermore, they have posted a 5-star review on their current employer and negative reviews about others in the industry. I have taken screenshots and will be contacting others who have received negative reviews to alert them to this.

I would like to know if anyone can help me to resolve my issue. 

I am writing from an another user account as my Local Guide Account have been suspended but I don't know the reason for this suspension. I was going very good on Local Guide and was running on level 8 but suddenly I realize that my account is now showing level and points details as it have been suspended. I would like to know the reason for suspension and very much like to reactive the account as worked so hard to reach at this level.

I would appreciated if someone can direct/assist me on the issue.

Please remember that, who is banned, through the account, is the person that is managing it, as the account is not acting indipendently of you.

• Bookmark this link, and follow the instruction in there to know how to contact the Local Guides Team: Why was I removed from the Local Guides program?

• For your privacy, please edit your post, removing the contact informations in there. The team will not use this post to contact you.

• Close this account now. Having two account is against the Program Rules, so your other account will not be verified while this account still open. Many people say "I will close the second account when the first one will be restored". The only result that they will have, in this way, is to have also the second account banned.

Ok folks, just picked up on this thread. I appreciate there is probably some emotional feelings, but its becoming a bit snippey! I'm pretty sure that everyone at Google doesn't want to listen to level 2, 3 & 4's squabbling. If the business owner wishes's an image / 360 to be removed they submit a request either with Google My Business or Google Maps!

Your questions have been answered 10,000x or more. Admittedly Google aren't great with instructions, but the threads and links are there if you read the articles. For those really without a clue... check out Google Garage, did my head in but my 6 year old knows more about SEO etc than I do! Lol

I stumbled upon an user who is violating the Local Guides' community policies, posting reviews saying he doesn't know the place and many other lengthy reviews where he admits he's commenting off-topic reviews just so he can conquer the 200+ charachter review badge.
