How do I "add a missing place" in Google Maps when it does NOT have a URL? It is a public tourist attraction, but it is not owned by any one and so it does not have a URL. Google Maps does not allow me to Add this place without a URL. Thanks.

SolutionCan you try to remove the "http://" in the web address field and try to submit again?

Can you provide a description of the tourist attraction and a link zooming the map to the location or streetview if available

Hi Philip, The attraction is a street famous for its street food in Ahmedabad, India - at https://goo.gl/C2o2nR . In this map, it is the diagonal street "NCC Rd". Every night a whole bunch of portable street vendors come here to sell popular western Indian foods. Since it is sanctioned by the municipal corporation of the city, it is all legal, but it does not exist as a separate legal entity and has no URL. I am not affiliated, but just an aficionado! Thanks!

Not sure that would be a mappable feature, what would you name it?

Hi PhilipF, (1) it has a popular name (2) it is always at this place - in fact, the name includes the name of the area and (3) people would search for it using that name. So yes, it is not physically embedded in a location, but it is a location in popular thought. It is similar to a popular farmer's market in Paris, for example. It would be nice if Maps allowed you to search for its location..

Hi @SaurinP,
As far as I am aware of, the Website is never a mandatory field while adding a Place to Maps.
Actually, adding a place to Maps is a two steps process:
1. Submit an edit to add a place
2. Submitted edit got Approved
Can you further clarify if you cannot Submit or the Submit do not got Approved? Are you using Desktop Maps or Mobile Maps (Android or iOS?)

Thanks @YK1001,
In Chrome on a Macbook Pro, I am navigating to the location, clicking on the Menu icon, clicking on "Add a missing place" which gives me a "Add a place" dialog box. I fill in Name, Address, Category (Restaurant is the closest I can get). I leave Phone Number, and Wesbite URL, and Hours fields unfilled. At this point, clicking on Submit gives me "Enter a valid website address" response in red and does not finish the submit.
I noticed there is another Place nearby at https://goo.gl/6EXTDu that is also a similar attraction without a website. So you are right that website does not seem to be a requirement. I just don't know what mistake I am making (my first time). Thanks!
