I agree when used well leading lines can help an image by making your mind travel. In this case the viewer walks along the shore of Chrissy Field in San Francisco then along the form of the Golden Gate Bridge to Marin County.
In this case the eye is lead down the alley through the confusion of the parked cars guided by the street line and the buildings towards the feature of the Eastern tower of the Manhattan Bridge which crosses from Brooklyn to New York City.

This is a very elegant way of expressing scenery and the beauty of places. May you shed more light on how i can utilise lead lines when taking shots of building since there is usually less detail for analysis.
