Hi @EliminateW while I concur that the fires in California are awful and wish they were not happening, it is off topic for this forum. Google Maps do emergency map updates and notifications, perhaps you might like to talk about those and if they've been timely or not.
Australia is coming into is bushfire season now, the first ones are off and running but nothing like yours which are happening in Winter.
Yes the fires have been bad , I was out that way toward the end of October and early November.
My uncle showed me the damage within the tree line along the Columbia river, he stated they were lucky it couldn't jump the river or more of the forest around that area would be gone.
I hope they can get it under control where you are.
